Default Affidavit of Support- what exactly is needed?!

Rete, where you say the US Consulate in London requires the last three
tax returns, where is it in the instructions regarding the documents
they ask you to bring?

I have had my Instruction Packet but not yet the Appointment Packet -
does it say so in the latter? I can't find any mention of *three* tax
returns in either the IV-15 (Rev Jun 02), the DS-2000 (Rev 8-1999) or
the I-134 instructions (Rev 10/12/00), all of which the Embassy sent
me in the Instruction Packet.

Cheers

I emailed the Consulate with this same question last week, since I had
conflicting reports on 1 vs. 3 years. This was their response...

"http://www.usembassy.org.uk//cons_we...faffidavit.htm provides
information on the I-134 or evidence to meet public charge provision."

At that link, I found the following...

"To substantiate the information regarding income and resources the sponsor
should attached two or more of the following items to the affidavit.
--notarized copies of his or her latest federal income tax return;
--a statement from his or her employer showing salary and the length and
permanency of employment;
--a statement from an officer of a bank regarding his or her account, the
date the account was opened and the present balance;
--any other evidence adequate to establish financial ability to carry out
his or her undertaking toward the applicant for what might be an indefinite
period of time."

That seems pretty clearly to indicate that you just need one year. However,
that said, we're taking 3 years worth just in case. Better safe than sorry,
I guess.

Yeah, I think that's just the same information that's given on the
DS-2000 (in fact, I think that webpage is the entire text of the
DS-2000 in HTML format).

My apologies for the misinformation on the number of tax returns to bring to the K-1 interview at the US Consulate in London. My fiancee n/k/a husband was from Canada and tax returns were not a requirement if employment was the source of financial sponsorship.

However, those with fiancees from the UK were all sending in three years of tax returns with their I-134s and stated it was a requirement of the US Consulate. Hence the misinformation on my part which I relayed to you.

Bring the latest as Dana Burke has stated.
