Default Affidavit of Support, about to interview...

Hi everyone, I just have a quick question. My wife and I are about to
go to our PR interview on Tuesday and I'm looking over things to bring
and it mentions the affidavit of support. Now I submitted my affidavit
of support back when I sent in my I-485 application. I still have the
copies of what I had sent to them. The question is, that was 2 years
ago and do I need to fill out a totally new Affadavit of Support? I
know I'm supposed to bring my last three years of W-2's, but I'm just
not sure if that means I need to fill out a new Affadavit of Support?
Anyone go through this same thing? Thanks for the help!

If the information on the I-864 is still the same, you don't need to bring a new one. In my case, I had a salary increase, and the I-864 was about 1.5 years old, so I brought a new one anyway, just to have the most current information in the file. Personally, I'd rather be prepared in case they do ask for a new one...it only takes a minute to fill out and get notarized.

Best Wishes,
Rene

Just curious, but if my original I-864 form showed that I could support
her then, and I still can, why should I show them another form? Did
they take your form at the interview? I have read in some previous
posts that they will not even look at your new form as long as your
first form was fine. I just don't think my salary increases make any
difference because I showed that I could support her when I first
filled out the form.

I filled a new one out anyway, since it had been over a year since my original one. I wasn't sure if one was needed or not, so I did it just in case. I handed over some things (the new I-864 being one of them) before the officer could ask me for it, so I don't know if she would have or not.

That's just my experience. There are probably people out there who did not bring an updated one, and were fine, too.

Best Wishes,
Rene

The I-864 does not need to be redone. However, you need to bring the two years tax returns (not just the W-2) to the interview that you filed with the IRS in the years since filing the I-485.

Thanks. Fortunately my CPA keeps all of my stuff organized to where I
can get to it quickly.
