Default Advanced Parole - Los Angeles question

Hi guys - I filed for AP with my AOS application back in early June
this year. Since then I've received my cash register receipt for all
three applications (I-485, I-765, I-131) collected my work permit and
been fingerprinted but three and a half months later there's been no
word about Advance Parole - does it normally take LA this long???
Should I be worried?? I love living here and all - but the fact that I
can't leave and go and see my family in England is driving me crazy!!

thanks as always

Jason

We are in the same boat. The last action on our AP was in March!
Our applications are at National, not LA, but welcome to the long wait.

I've heard from the other board I visit (visajourney) that if you do a walk-in at the L.A. district office you can get AP and EAD the same day...

here is a link to that info:

*hint: look at the poster's timeline ;-)

I did a walk-in AP - on the day of my EAD appointment I walked over to the AP room (can't recall which now) and told them I needed my AP to travel and had not heard back. I waited for approx 2 hrs or so but got it nonetheless. I think I had to fill out a form at the front desk - they had to find my file and do the paperworl, etc...

March?? Wow....

I checked the LA processing reports and they're on the middle of May -
looks like another month or two of waiting...

*sigh*...!!

I would not do a walk-in. Make an Infopass appointment. If the district office uses Infopass you might be turned away at the door without an appointment.

Good luck. Make sure you are insistent as initially they will just tell you "you have to wait your turn until yours is processed". But explain that you need it urgently and have already been waiting for xx months. Insist on speaking to an immigration officer/supervisor. In my case that caused them to just get it done - I never met with anyone, but it is the only way to get past the 'receptionist' at the front.
