ADIT processing?
#1
Can anyone shed any light on this? I received an update from USCIS on my I-485 application.
On October 19, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.
Can anyone give me any idea what the ADIT processing is? Has anyone else been through this stage?
Edit: I have done a search on this, but the one thread that was relevant didn't really give any conclusive answer.

Did you search include a question to our good friend Mr. Google?
ADIT - Alien Documentation, Indentification, and Telecommunication.
So, did your welcome notice refer to any ADIT processing required of you? Did it refer to anything at all required of you?

I did indeed visit Google! But there was a lot of conflicting information, none of which seemed particularly relevant. I was hoping there was someone on BE going through the same thing.
I haven't physically received the notice as of yet, just the text which prompted me to check the ultra-reliable USCIS case status site. I suppose I will have to wait and see what the notice demands of me.
Thanks for the reply.

I suspect that it will demand nothing. But, I have not been following your case closely enough to know exactly where you stand in the adjustment process.
As you know by now, USCIS notices are generally 'one size fits all', even though one size does not fit all.

The biometrics appointment involved in adjustments has superceded the prior ADIT processing.

New email today!
On October 20, 2011, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.
I am guessing the ADIT processing was nothing at all.

I think I'm in a similar position....and was just as confused as you!!
I think they must have changed their procedure as they just used to send people these welcome packs, and now apparently they send these things!!
Hope we both get our gcs soon!!!

On a K1 visa, part of the AOS process involves attending your local USCIS office for a biometrics appointment. That is what Mr. Folinsky is referring to.

Ah I see! It's different for me as I'm on a IR-1 visa. Seems to be confusing no matter what visa one is on,though!!! I'm not going to be able to relax until I've actually got the damn things in my hands (still need my ssn, too!!)
Good luck for you

Ah! Ok thanks for that!!
I - or rather my in-laws- have received the welcome notice in the meantime; it doesn't say they've ordered for my gc to be produced, it says I should hear from them within 30 days...guessing that means the same, basically??
Not too worried anymore now, it all seems to be going according to plan. Would just like to get my ssn and have a feeling something went wrong there! May have to go to the local office in person after all...oh well. It's been three weeks today, so I'll give it until the middle of next week and if I still haven't received anything by then, I'll pay them a lil'visit
Overall, I can't complain. My ride has been comparatively smooth!!

My GC arrived today
My immigration journey is pretty much over now, save the removal of conditions further down the line.
Thanks to everyone here for your advice and help - especially Noorah101.
