Default 815 to 825 days?

Hi. My wife just received the first NOA from the California Service Center after filing her I130 petition. In the body of the notice, it states the following: "It usually takes 815 to 825 days from the date of this receipt for us to respond to this type of case." We were both shocked. Is this standard wording??? Can anyone share their own experience or provide insight with respect to this time line?

Thanks.

That timeline is not necessarily for your type of case, it appears that CSC reports the maximum length of an I-130 for any relative, not just for a spouse.

My I-130 receipt from CSC in April 2002 also listed 800+ days as the approval time, but it was approved in 3 months.

Wow. 3 months? My 130 for my wife was filed late May. Mine says 800+. It may be
approved before the K3! The K3 is just a total failure! 1st K3 NOA June 17,
2002.

The K3 is not necessarily a total failure. Though the I-130 took only 3 months for INS approval, it is still in processing with NVC. Meanwhile, the 129F was approved by Missouri and my wife received the K3 visa in her passport last month. Our K3 process (from filing of 129F to issuance of visa in the passport) took 4.5 months. You have to be extremely patient with Missouri, but afterwards things can zoom along.

Hang in there.
