2nd Christmas in the USA
This will be my wife's second christmas in the USA, and then we will be going for a visit to the Philippines. I guess we should check into the rules around travel. She got her green card last year, but her philippine passport is in her maiden name. Do you think we should have any changes made in the passport?

She can see about changing her passport name in the Philippines or once she is back in Washington, via their Consulate in the US.
Have a good trip.

What name is her green card in?
It would be less trouble if the passport and gc are in the same name.
However, if they differ, the ticket should match the passport. As
someone indicated, bring a certified copy of the marriage certificate to
show the name difference. The airline might care on the way back, as
they must determine whether the passenger can legally enter the US. US
Immigration won't care what name is on the ticket or the passport, as
they would generally care about the green card. Immigration in PI would
care about the name on the passport and shouldn't care about the name on
the ticket or the green card.
