Is your tree up yet?

Re: Is your tree up yet?
Hubbie put up our outdoor lights last Sunday. 2 trees put up last night, one in the living room and one in the basement. Both artificial. Cutting down on other decorations this year, they only collect the dust. lol.

This weekend we will put our tree up with help of our 2 year old granddaughter...she is very excited about Christmas this year.
Mince pies and Baileys for sustenance for the adults.

I used to back in the UK and have done this twice here in New Zealand. May do it this year for the change as my 2.99 GBP Tesco artificial tree is looking a bit ropey.

Re: Is your tree up yet?
We are planning to get our tree on the Weekend. I'm not 100% sure as we have our office Christmas do at a local Brew House so I might not be in a fit state to drive to a Christmas tree farm, choose a suitable tree (can take ages as we are very picky) Then saw it down, load it on the roof f the car Last year tree was about 12 feet tall- they look smaller when they are growing in a field It also depends on Snoop's state after the night out as to whether she cracks the whip and forces me to go or takes pity

Our tree is already up, along with some extra decorations. Not a 'real' tree though

It went up today. $20 for tree and all decorations and fits on the end table. Took 5 minutes to put up and will take less putting it away.

Re: Is your tree up yet?
I've 5 very large and very tall christmas trees in front of my house, plus another that is approximately 12ft wide at the base, by the drive. I wish I could dig one up because I would love to have a real tree in the house but I won't cut one down and kill a tree for the brief pleasure of having one indoors!
I've got a fake crimbo tree in the lounge, just put up and decorated. I don't bother with other decorations in the house, unlike a lot of my Canadian friends.
Does anyone else remember sticking bits of paper together to make chains as a kid, hanging real holly and mistletoe along the fireplace and having candles on the tree? We didn't have those fancy fairly lights! My brother still has the one glass candle holder (a bird) from back in the day.

Hell yeah, mine's up - two 7ft Xmas trees (one in kitchen and one in living room, both real), fairy lights on anything that will stand still long enough, etc, etc. I bloody love Christmas.

We don't do candles on the tree, but we still do the paper chains and holly/mistletoe hanging in the house. Although the paper chains are now a kit, so a little less involved these days! But the kids love doing them.

Re: Is your tree up yet?
In the second week of November, I was severely chastised by some people because I commented on a local Facebook Moms page that it was too early for Christmas decorations, following photos of their already decorated trees - and the OP was asking for tips to keep her two year old from rearranging the decorations! Debbie Downer was one of the terms used.
I think Advent or early December is appropriate, although it will be a little later this year as we're away.
