Not that I know who ANL are, but after looking them up, I would never guess that someone going by Clematis (in picture and name) would be a fan !

Re: Your Claim to fame ?!
I have had a few claims to fame.
When I was at the civil service, my supervisor told me it would be a good idea for me to find another job as he had been told to find a way to get rid of me (I was a union rep at the time). In my nxt job I made the local papers for blowing the whistle on discrimination at a local council. I was also on strike for over 6 months, but then my face was just one in the crowd. when I was a bit older, I was on the news because of a housing project to redevelop run down council estates in east London. I was able to meet the then environment minister and Prince Charles and worked with a group that referred to themselves as "the great and the good". I as well met with a few East enders actors whose names I don't even remember anymore. I was a non executive director of a Housing Action Trust for a few years so had frequent moments of fame in a local and national papers. This was whenever some dignitary or politician decided to pay us a visit. during that time I was hero to some and villain to others. If you google my name you may be pointed to some hansard minutes from a debate in Parliment or to a speech I gave at the local council. I also made the local papers a few times when I was chairing a surestart progam. In my old community in East London, I am still pretty well known. When I went back last year, it was great to be treated like a celebrity. I was part of a community opera group so got a few mentions in the papers. Finally, I was part of an oral history project when i was younger, and if you go to the Vestry House museum in walthamstow. you can listen to me speaking about my experiences as a child growing up in East London in the 80s. Now my son has taken over from me in the fame game. He was on TV a few years ago for his part in a show called the next star. He still gets recognized a few times by fans. He is planning to be an actor or pop star. |
Re: Your Claim to fame ?!
I was once interviewed on Tomorrow's World. I was commenting on the flavour of beer that had been produced from an instant machine.
I've also been in the news a few times - I have been interviewed on BBC TV news, BBC Radio 4 News, Global TV Calgary News, and soon after I arrived in Calgary I was pictured in the Sun - alongside Rob Anders . In my defence, I just happened to be in the same place at the same time, and I was wearing a sweatshirt that said "Anarchy" across the front! |

I can't match that claim but I have had a couple of pints with dbd33 and Novo. Amongst others. Not sure whether this qualifies as a claim to fame or infamy?

I stole Oink's pint pot and now it has pride of place on my mantlepiece, alongside a set of George Clooney's false teeth (not a lot of people know that) and a pair of Kerry Katona's pants.
