We installed a dehumidifier in our home in the UK a few years ago, should have done it long before. The amount of water we got out every night was amazing and it certainly improved that damp feeling on the walls of the rooms we didnt use very much! Worth every penny. Here, of course, we have to run a humidifier. Anyone have one of those small portable ones in the bedroom? Are they noisey, do they work well. I suffer from lots of nasal problems in the morning and dont know whether to just stick with my snoring plasters (very romantic ;)) or invest in a small humidifier if they work and wont keep me awake all night. :)
We have a small humidifier in our son's room. It works well and we have had it in our room previously. I am a light sleeper but still slept with this running. You may be aware of it starting and stopping but only with a slight hissing sound rather than a clicking on and off. It's like white noise so kind of soothing to sleep with. Just watch for the marks the steam may leave behind on your walls! |

Heh. I so thought of clynnog this morning. I went to one of those fireside chats with the Ministry to which one is invited after driving moderately quickly lots of times. We watched some gruesome films, head hitting dashboard at 5mph, head hitting dashboard at 25mph, etc. It was in Barrie so it's understandable that neither airbags nor seat belts appeared in the films, they likely don't have them yet up there, but I loved that it was all in mph. So much clearer than kinetic kilojoules or whatever force it is with which francophone heads collide.

I heard a tale this very week; a young kid was stopped on the highway and the cops ran his number and did a look see in his car. A fresh bud was hanging out of the cigar lighter thingy. The cop looked at it, looked at the kid, the kid squirmed a bit and the cop said yeah whatever and just walked off roaring with laughter. The cops just drove off. BC, innit. R. |
