again great news re processing dates, wish they had been that fast with us - my son would be Canadian then instead of arriving at one year old!!
I would though say that unless though someone has a job to come to I would certainly consider just landing within the year and then moving until the dollar exchange rate improves. We came with more than the required amount like most people and during one of our visits in 2006, we were getting $2.40+, when we landed in April 2007 we got $2.23 and now it is down to $1.80 ish - that is an awful lot of money to lose if you transfer everything - for us we are talking about the ability to have bought our 2 new cars outright, and half our furniture. Even come with the minimum you need - it is such an expensive process to lose large sums of money this is a big loss. How anyone can survive on the minimum sums required by CIC for 6 months is beyond me. |
