Ah. I had sort of staggered through the words but remained baffled. Perhaps it really is about gargling.

Re: Worst customer service?

Not an airline complaint - but a customer service complaint all the same. Some acquaintances of mine belong to the YMCA gym which has been open for a couple of years.

When she went a few weeks ago, the showers were either not working or the water was stone cold. They had problems with the tiles coming off the walls of the swimming pools last year. The first time she complained she was told the water in the showers was cold because they were filling the pool. The next time she was told the water in the showers was cold because they were now heating the pool.

The third time she was told that it was a large facility and they couldn't guarantee that the shower water would be hot all the time!! The girl at the front desk told her to go home and have a shower there. So this woman told her that she was going straight to work after using the gym - she didn't have time to go home before going to work.

The comment then was that she should come to the gym earlier so she did have time to go home for a shower!!!

I said - I bet the receptionist was about 17 and when you complained she looked at you like "f*** you".

Anyway, she was paying month to month so she is just going to quit and go somewhere where they have hot water in the showers.

Sorry I should stop typing after a couple of beers.:(:beer::beer:
We used United for our trip in Jan this year and for one part we had an air Canada airplane it was like we had been upgraded.
From now on we are considering sticking to the UK carriers when we pop over to visit your grate land.

I guess you have a bit of a hangover then?;)

Awhile ago I flew back to the UK with British Airways after flying with Air Canada that really felt like an ungrade:thumbup:

Heh heh... I couldn't go without adding to this thread.

Apart from my well documented experience with crappy tire, I had a big kerfuffle with Philips last year.

I bought a Philips dvd/cd writer for my pc just before we moved here. Philips have a "Worldwide Guarantee" on their products. After about 9 months it wouldn't write cds any more so I called a North American Philips customer service number to be told it wasn't their department, but here's another number to call. So I called that number to be told that they weren't Philips and they couldn't fix it, but they gave me yet another number to call. So, my third call was to someone in Philips in Montreal who once again, said they couldn't help so they gave me a fourth number.
After ten calls, seemingly taking me all the way around North America talking to the remote controls department (wtf??), the TV section and various customer service offices, I finally got someone who told me that as the writer was a European model, they are unable to help me. They weren't interested in the "Worldwide Guarantee" and their only suggestion was to send my writer back to the UK to get fixed.
Morons.

And don't get me started on gas "marketers"... :curse:

Re: Worst customer service?

Our local branch of Wal*Mart seems to employ the cast of one flew over the cukoos nest!

Its not so much of a customer service issue as they are very willing to try and help. But none of them seem to speak properly, all have no brain cells and when I was paying for a new jacket at the cash desk, the woman slowly and carefully removed the hanger, even more slowly tried to fold it up, and then, when it wouldn't fit in the bag, screwed itup in the smallest ball she could and rammed it into the bag like she was packing dynamite.

It was all I could do not to laugh - aside from wanting to say "oi thats my new jacket" but I don't think she would've cared anyways!

Canada post is my winner, not only you have to wait very long before speaking to someone, but getting no where is guaranteed, not to mention that they are super slow and only good in getting your stuff lost.

VAN HOUTTE COFFEE :curse::curse:

Was a customer for 2yrs - rented a coin-op machine for a lounge area in our equestrian barn. Got a answer machine message last Thursday evening to say they wanted to terminate our contract as they had a potentially more profitable customer.

9am the next day, the machine had gone, along with all our takings, all the coffee, hot chocolate etc etc that we'd purchased. Plumbing to the machine had been removed, and a hole left in the wall.

Head office (Montreal) have been helpful trying to resolve things, and seemed genuinely shocked at the local office's actions. Whatever happens, I can't say I'm inclined to ever by anything from them again.

I'm glad someone cleared that up I thought it sounded a little odd. My OH flies between Toronto and London on a regular basis and I always thought he was getting Aeroplan miles.

I have BA miles but to get London-Paris you need to get a lot more miles than the equivalent on Aeroplan of for example Toronto-New York.

Distance London to Paris is 211.61 miles:

http://www.mapcrow.info/Distance_bet..._Paris_FR.html

Distance, Toronto to New York City is 343.62 miles:

http://www.mapcrow.info/Distance_bet...w_York_US.html

How is that equivalent?

No I do not work for Air Canada/Aeroplan.

i find timmies completely hit and miss. i am not really slagging them off before people arrive outside my house with pitchforks and burning things. its just that sometimes they can be pleasant, sometimes indifferent, sometimes really really bad, is this not the worst kind of customer service, where you never know what you are going to get from one place to the next.

Just the other day i had this conversation:

timmies: what
me: hi i'd like a single cream, double sugar, large to go please.
timmies: single cream
me: yes please
timmies: you only want single cream. (had the feeling at this point she wanted to add f@*king weirdo, why can't you have a double double like us normal canadians. but resisted)
me: er yes, (feeling slightly intimidated even though i was working and heavily armed)
timmies: you paying by card!!!!
me: < trys to take back card but too late> er yes
timmies: hhrrrummmpph, swipe it then
me: ok
timmies: uurrrghgh not worked, swipe it again, look at the queue can you not hurry up
me: oh erm sorry
timmies: oh just take it, take it, pay me later, next.

at this point i left. came back later on and paid cash.
