Red face Woodstock?????

Hi all, does anyone know anything about the Woodstock, New Brunswick area. We have researched the area and although the houses appear great, we are unsure at present about the Trucking Companies. If anyone lives there or knows anything please could you let us know, Thanks in advance.

Hello. There are several companies in and around that area. The major ones are A J Motor Express, Day & Ross (McCains) Sunbury, Midland (both owned by Irving) Try googling them. Good luck.

Don't know much about the trucking companies. I only know that Day and Ross and McCains (head office and large factory) are just down the road.

My husband had an interview in the area a few weeks ago so we visited the area. While my husband had his interviews I went out with a realtor to get a feel for the properties and the area. The river valley is really lovely and very attractive. There are also some great houses in the area which are not too bad value. The town itself however is not so attractive. It has many day to day facilities that you would need and Fredericton is only about a 40 min drive away should you need other facilities. You're unlikely to get much choice in the way of clothes in Woodstock but you should find the supermarkets provide most of the food you will need. There is limited choice for eating out, unless you like fast food.

Although the area around the town is attractive, we weren't taken with the town itself and decided on Halifax. I would recommed you visit the area yourself as you might have a different view to ours.

Thanks for the reply, can i just pick your brains on Nova Scotia, is there many trucking companies there or not. Once again I have looked at houses but can't move without a job. Hoping to get out there soon, not 100% sure when. This sounds a little bit easier to get in and out of as Halifax has an airport which isn't limited to 5 months of the year!!

Sorry, no idea about trucking companies in NS or even NB.

Might be worth starting a new thread, I'm sure there are plenty of people on here that do know.

Around Halifax there are many. The biggest are the ones mentioned previously, Day & Ross etc. There is also Armor, Pole Star, Clarke. These are out of Moncton, owned by George Amorian. They all have depots in and around the Maritimes including most major towns.
