So despite the extreme cold weather and the usual I hate Winnipeg American forums does this city it really deserve its perceived rep ? Just curious that's all!

Many of us that live here, actually like it.

Its got everything you need, easy to get to, and reasonably priced.

The people are mostly friendly.

There is a lot of sunshine, especially in the winter, a cold day is a sunny day.

I haven't been robbed knifed or even come close to getting frost bite. Coach soccer all year round and have 4 kids.
All in school 2 in University 1 about to finish high school.

Made some aquaintances but not real friends which is what I expect from me. As I don't find the need to have close friends, as shit happens and we come and go. Just treat everyone as a friend and help out when required.

My wife has made some friends here but as she also only had 3 close friends back home wasn't high on the list of needs for us.
Kids have loads of friends, th youngest and oldest are very rarely home at weekends as they are off to someones cabin or a party or both.

Life is good.

Always like to ask what do you do where you are now.

How often do you invite a stranger to the area to be your friend ?
:- Once a month, Once a year or rarely?
How often do you do something different from your normal routine?
:- Once a month, Once a year or rarely?

So why do people expect things to be different, you move you settle you get into a routine. Don't like your choice - then move.

Here at least you have a good reason to sit cuddled up on the sofa.
It really is Freezing outside for 6 months or more.
