Default why do they put

why do they put pedestrian crossings on every corner and junction in BC . It's like a pedstrian duck shoot out here, folks dropping left right and centre, and if it aint bad enough they activate the clear to walk green hand signal at same time the traffic turning lights are green ......yi yi yi .
everytime i turn on the radio a pedestrians down somewhere in Vancouver.
Maybe it's some kinda population cutting scheme.
Anyway, must go,i'm getting bull bars fitted to me car this morning

The traffic lights are the same in Sask, however vehicles always stop to give the pedestrians right of way. Also the overhead red crossing lights used to throw me off a bit when I first moved over.

Those junctions are standard practice in North America. The pedestrians go the same direction as the traffic lights and they pedestrians have priority over the traffic turning across their flow.
