Now I feel stupid
When I just double clicked the title didn't come up - poor excuse I know (but true, just sepnt ages studying the thumbnail
). Personally can't stand them and not old enough to recognise them that well

Mum only had one album and that was a Best of - no piccie on the front if I recall.

Ok.... here's a (very lame) inverse test/example... guess who this is?

Would it be Burton Cummings and the Guess Who.

When I was at University I volunteered on the campus radio station. This was back in the days of LP's and each LP had a piece of paper put on top of it, covering about 1/3 of the cover. It was intended that DJ's on the station were to write comments about the music to give clues/hints to other volunteer DJ's. On the station copy of Sgt. Pepper, somebody wrote 'These guys are going nowhere. They will amount to nothing and are one hit wonders at best'. To do this, that cracks me up everytime I think of it.

CHEZ FM here in Ottawa reflect that statement to a tee. CHEZ is the place that old bands go to die. Never have I heard so much Supertramp, Bob Seger, Max Webster, Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Springsteen, music day after day, with nary a nod to anything new, innovative or interesting. Needless to say, I never listen, but when I go in a store here in Ottawa and they are playing Supertramp, it is always CHEZ that is on.

Oh yes, it was a joke. That is for sure. In my opinion, the Beatles best output was Rubber Soul and after that....Revolver, Sgt. Pepper, MMT, White, Yellow Submarine OST, Abbey Road, Let it Be. Pre Rubber Soul is a bit too 'yah yah, love me do' for my likening.

They may play Joni Mitchell or Alannis once in a while. Believe me it is torture listening to it while at the dentists. They have the demographics all wrapped up with their 'toys for boys' contest (ie. giving away snowmobiles, ATV's, plasma TV's, motorcycles, beer etc).
Give me campus radio, internet radio and CBC Radio anyday.

I always listen to a CD I've made when I'm in the car. A number of my friends back in Canada have invested in Sirius Satellite Radio for their cars because the radio stations are so bad. I guess some people really do like the music they play....but those people wouldn't be me or my friends...

I think the Calgary stations I have found only have about 30 songs each anyway, and there really is a limit as to how much Nickleback a girl can take! I bought myself a Sirius yesterday - Radio 1, here I come. Plus lots of other (advert free) stuff to play around with. I can only hope I can find something vaguely decent on there.

Nothing to do with music - but there is a slight "dumbness" connection here. My friend was chatting with a physical therapist from work and the discussion turned to Victoria, BC, which was on Vancouver Island, whereupon the therapist said "Oh I didnt know Victoria was on an island!"
