Exit polls are predicting a Rob Ford victory. I for one have no wish to live here if this is true. I don't want to live in a city that thinks the values of Rob Ford are worth supporting. Anyone want to buy a nice condo in a crap city?

But as Auld Stalker was kind enough to point out, I only work there and it's a-snowing not in Richmond Hill.

What's your Mayor like? I'm looking at MLS trying to think where to go? Seems CP24 might be a bit premature. We live in hope.

Seems it is correct. WTF is going on? Who the hell voted for this guy? For anyone thinking about it DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES CONSIDER A MOVE TO TORONTO.
Depressing in the extreme. I have always had the possibility of a job in Calgary and for the first time am seriously thinking about following it up.

BTW I have absolutely no interest in who wins the Toronto mayoralty but your capitalized comment does not inform any prospective import why.

Hey, I am embracing the new Calgary as a forward thinking, diverse, progressive city with a cool Mayor. Seriously, feel free to mock Toronto as much as you can - we will take everything you have to throw at us - and we deserve it. We are beyond a joke.

If you don't have an interest then why bother commenting?

I was talking to some people I work with today, cradle Canadians born and raised in Toronto. We had a laugh about how the mayoral candidates manage to be slightly mad and utterly mundane all at the same time. They reserve the right to moan about the new mayor, but ultimately they don't really care and this is their home city.

I suspect that, in 2 months time, they will be moaning about him as much as they did the old one. In municipal politics, I am not too sure how much power such people have. They seem to feel the need to be in the papers every other day kissing babies and white hatting famous people that come to visit but, other than that, I am not too sure what they can do if the other city politicians are not with him. Time will tell
