Hi all, I bought one of these (actually from Walmart on a recent visit to the US).
I have difficulty sleeping sometimes especially when I'm away as I get a bit anxious. I find it very good. Has anyone else used these?

We have a humidifier in the bedroom when the air is dry. It pretty much does the same job!

Yes I have 6 options of noise to choose from on the machine:

Thunder
Summer night
Ocean
Brook
White noise
Rain

I generally choose Ocean.

Yes I work shifts (days and nights) so I plug my phone into this dock and blast white noise through the speaker when I am sleeping through the day.

We use one of these Dohm jobbies and it's fab. Not much choice except strength of the white noise but it's random and continual and works really well.

They did introduce a portable version if you travel, but never bothered with that.

It's nice not having to use earplugs to sleep.

I am a terrible sleeper. I put the radio on (a talk programme) to stop my brain churning when I wake up. I've always assumed the white noise would drive me mad, and not be enough to distract me, but maybe I should try it

I never found music, sounds, other noises like whales or ocean or river help much, for me oddly enough a table fan running in the room is enough. Without the fan though, cannot sleep. When in hotels, I can never sleep as its too quiet. I am a terrible sleeper at night.

I have an app on my phone called 'rain rain'. It's free and has lots of options (not just rain) like sandstorm, laundry machine, river flowing, seagulls lol.

I think there might be a white noise option as well

Yes I heard about the phone app. I think I just wanted to buy something from Walmart in the US ... but I'm glad I bought it. Might get a more sophisticated one at some point. It was US$20 which is about the same (as CA$29). The real proof for me is whether it will work when I'm in a hotel on some high floor worrying about a fire alarm going off (happens sometimes but not often). Well it will work as it can work on batteries but if it gets me to sleep I mean!.

I hear nothing but tinnitus when I try to sleep. On the plus side it mostly sounds like Radio 4, but in the next room and you can't make out the words.
