Its quite possibly already snowed there this winter, it was snowing on the S Alberta border during the week. Its been known to snow in Calgary as late as June too.

Wouldnt it be a good idea to figure these things out before deciding to go there?

In reality the chinook winds clear the snow now and then , so there is never a lot on the ground for long, 6", maybe a foot or so, but its a pretty long potential snow season, although the serious snow is mostly dumped on the nearby mountains.

As usual, iaink is exaggerating. Calgary is virtually snow-free.

<for several days in August>

What Iain has said is true and it has snowed here already we had about three inches on the ground at our house last week, it was one of those Calgary days 22C and sunny at 5:00 pm then 1C and snowing by 10:00 pm.

It has all gone now. Our more serious snowfalls seem to be in April or May when we seem to get at least one major dump every year or two.

As usual for an Ontario resident you've got it wrong again it should be July not August.

Are you insinuating ALL Ontario residents give wrong information?
Why you, if Calgary weren't so far away I'd come round and cut off a bit of your garden fence with a small hobby knife! So I would.

Well we've been here two years and February I think is the coldest month. We don't get feet and feet of snow that last for weeks like in some parts of Canada though, but it could well be something like -28 when you come! ... or plus 20!!!

That's Calgary for you!

If you can believe the 14 day weather forecast there might be 5 days of the white stuff next week.

Check again ..... no snow forecast now!

You should know by now, ...... they give hourly forecasts here, and seldom get it right, even for the next hour!

Don't you Alberta people find the Chinooks annoying during the snow seasons?

I hate that dirty slushy period we get every spring when the snow melts, the cars and your cloths get filthy, don't you have that problem every time the Chinooks come?

At least here, once the snow comes it tends to stay till spring, then we have only one, sometimes two slushy periods per year.

Put it this way you would be a millionaire if you owned a car wash in Calgary.
