Hmmm.. *clears throat*
1 year wouldn't be enough to get a degree so, like a lot of expats, it has to be travel. I'd take a kayak down the St. Lawrence to start, maybe a canoe if I ever learn to pilot one properly. With the remaining however-many-months I'd disappear to SW India with the OH and learn how to play Tabla and cook a proper curry. There's most certainly a gap in the market for a real curry-house in TO; and if not I know my missus would never leave me!

Like what? Do that for a whole year? Isnt that just returning to your teens
, only without the homework and the nagging mother?
Anyway, I think I would write (poorly), paint (only when drunk), take up yoga, make jewelry that a small child could get praise for and continue to not shave my legs. And that year would pass all too quickly I bet.
