what to do in London UK
Im off to London for a month for work. Arrive on Sept 27. Will be in a one bed apartment in Waterloo for about 5 weeks. Wll be using the northern line to get to Hendon Police College daily.
Any suggestions as to what do and not to do while there would be appreciated....beyond Big Ben and the Palace that is, ive been there and done that.

Get off at Mornington Crescent, walk up the Camden High Road, look at the lock. Wonder what the rest of your life was for.

Bizarre commute though, can't you stay somewhere central or near to Hendon?

Go to the West End and see a show. Even if it's not your cuppa, you gotta see a show!

Hendon is pretty shit really. Sorry Hendon. It's one of the Met's priority boroughs!
Kew Gardens if you fancy some horti-culture.
Covent Garden for arty-farty shopping. Wander into Oxford St, Carnaby Street, Soho, Chinatown - absorb the atmosphere. Eating out will be mostly extortionate - find some Marks and Spencer sandwiches.
Visit the new(ish) Wembley.
Go to a proper football match.
Greenwich is nice. Think the Cutty Sark is still visitable there?
Many of the museums are free if that is of interest.
I think just wander - London is good for wandering. Get some people on your course to take you home with them for tea once a week!

National Gallery, Tate Gallery, Tate Modern, Courtauld Institute, Victoria and Albert Museum, Science Museum, Natural History Museum, British Museum, Imperial War Museum, Hayward Gallery.
Hampstead Heath, down by the ponds at South End Green as well as the top end from Hampstead High Street. Camden Lock.
Visit the Tower. Walk along South Bank from Waterloo to Tower Bridge.
Take in a concert or two.
Take Eurostar to Paris for the day.
Get pissed as a fart in Hendon then fall asleep on the tube and end up in Morden.
And remember to Mind The Gap
