Well we are here and what a week
 

Hi all

We have arrived in Okotoks and its all we hoped so far. The weathers been great but god its been busy.

Decent flight on Zoom but somehow both of our laptops wireless cards got buggered. This has made it a bit of a pain communicating with Uk and obviously not been able to update on here either.

We have our SIN cards, Alberta health and Alberta driving licenses. We have bought a house subject to mortgage and have boutght two cars. PT cruiser for MrsL and a Dodge Caravan for me. Both are registered and insured so we are legal.

Its been mental but the hardest parts are behind us now so we are starting to settle into it now. Hope to move in to our house 19 August all going well and that is going to be great.

I have a weeks worth of updates to catch up on so back later with more updates.

Can I say thanks to you all for your good wishes (you'll have guessed from my handle I'm the better half! ;) )

I'd just like to add a huge big thanks to the very kind people (Wallace - you know who you are ;) !!) who have helped us with our transition to Canada and for all the help/guidance and assistance they have very kindly provided. Things would have been a lot more complicated if we hand't been given this kind of help and advice, so a big clap for you and Mr Wallace!! http://britishexpats.com/forum/image....gif:thumbsup:

I can honestly say all the worry, stress and anxiety has been worth it and would recommend the move to Canada one well worth it from our point of view. The kids are loving it and although they miss their grandparents they don't want to go back home (so far!).

Thanks to all on BE also who have provided much needed and valuable advice.

No not original I grant you but it was cheap, easy to drive and as practical as you could ever want. Driving here is boring anyway so performance and handling were never top of the priority list.
