Re: Weird Holiday Decorations!
I purchased a carton of Eggnog, we sampled it for the first and last time yesterday evening. It had the consistency of a yellowish Baileys and looked like it would be a yummy sort of custardy type thing.
I am very sorry and don't wish to offend but it was vile and tasted like....I won't even go there at this early hour of the morning. I doubt the addition of alcohol would improve it. Needless to say it went straight into the sink:rofl: I wonder if homemade would be any better????? |

The stuff I had was homemade and was really very good. ( I don't like bailys' or that sort of consistency, this stuff was nothing like that at all).
Slightly off topic on the thread I started but on the food theme has anyone seen any ready rolled icing here??? |

I have just found a recipe for eggnog that cooks the yolks and doesn't add uncooked egg whites at the end. Sounds ok and has rum in it so will give it a whirl:fingerscrossed:

Michaels have it in their baking section - afaik they have the ready rolled stuff and also the blocks of stuff that you roll out yourself.
I think everyone sticks that Betty Crocker frosting stuff on anything and everything;) |

Thanks, may have time to pop down to Calgary. Can't understand why they don't have it in the baking sections at any grocery stores. Our local Walmart, which has a huge selection of wedding/birthday cake tins etc don't stock.
I think everyone sticks that Betty Crocker frosting stuff on anything and everything;) If I am correct and you are in Airdrie, the closest Michaels to you will be in County Hills Village - near the superstore.... (take a right onto Country Hills boulevard as you go down deerfoot, then a right onto harvest hills boulevard. Go right again at the lights when you see Superstore... go straight on at the next set of lights and turn left at the following set into the carpark...) Their baking section is on the front far right hand side as you go into the store. |
