just a heads up. our local Dollar Giant sells boxes of weetabix :thumbsup:

so if you have the urge for them its worth looking in there.
we were looking for a pirates eye patch and came out with lots of weetabix.

Readily available in the cereal aisle at Safeway in Calgary.

According to the Weetabix Canada website they are available at Real Canadian Superstore and Extra Foods in Kamloops.;)

Here in the US, (Yes I know this is the Canadian subforum), the Michigan based supermarket 'Meijer' imports Weetabix from Canada.

Mmmm weetabix! We can easily get weetabix here in NS. Before anyone camplains about them tasting different here in Canada my husband use to work for weetabix and the recipe here and in the UK is almost the same.

Bloody hell - is weetabix considered a rarity in some parts of Canada? Even our supermarket (yup - singular, with no competition for about 65km!) sells them :confused:

I'm in Toronto and have difficulty finding them! Those horrible flavoured minibix are around, but difficult to find proper weetabix - although when I do, I don't find any flavour difference, cardboard still tastes like cardboard! :D

Yep freely available in Kelowna and tastes the same to me although the copious amounts of sugar added probably masks the real weetabix taste

Most certainly hot.
But be careful - Canadian milk might not come from real cows like it does in the homeland and there might be added sugar or cinnammon (how do you spell it again - it looks odd any way I try it!).:eek:

I agree HOT milk and lashings of sugar (fake sugar will do). If the milk is too hot you can then add cold, especially if all the hot stuff has been soaked up.

Both. Hot milk makes it into "central heating" for adults.

Funny thing...I do the same with cornflakes too. But I need to add sugar when it's hot milk. No sugar, cold.

Ah Ready Brek now that isn't easy to get here unless you have a local Brit shop and then they charge almost $13 for a box :eek:
Chocolate Ready Brek doesn't need as much sugar. ;)

Weetabix is definitely not the same, I bought some here in NS on my arrival and the box is still in the cupboard, but luckily at Pete's you can get good old proper Weetabix from the UK...

I don't notice any difference at all.

Taken from the Weetabix UK website:

Weetabix contains the following ingredients (listed in order of amount used).

Wholegrain Wheat (95%), Malted Barley Extract, Sugar, Salt, Niacin, Iron, Thiamin (B1), Riboflavin (B2), Folic Acid.

Taken from the Canadian website:

Weetabix Whole Grain Cereal

Ingredients:
Whole Wheat, Barley Malt Extract, Sugar, Salt, Iron, Niacin, Thiamine Hydrochloride.

The only difference is is the Riboflavin and the Folic acid, not sure they add that much to the taste???

I also don't understand why people say that it's different here. The recipe is so slightly different that you won't even notice it in the taste (source - my husband used to work for weetabix :) ). People taste what they want to believe.

You might want to check in just about any grocery store.
