I got my ears pierced when I was 11, I've got a tattoo of a unicorn on my buh-tock. I couldn't make up my mind between a dolphin and a unicorn, I eventually decided on the unicorn as a "snub" to an ex friend who was convinced that because I'm Catholic and single I'm a virgin *proceeds to ridicule me up and down the street all day*.

I had my belly button pierced but it wouldn't heal properly and kept oozing green gunk

I have my ears pierced 4 times on each ear and my belly button is pierced twice.

No tattoos though thankfully..

I followed the directions to make a poll but didn't work and could not delete the thread. I just have ear piercings, 6 in total(child of the 80s). Considering a Lip piercing but I am of an advanced age.

Yep I would love to get my nose pierced but I don't think some of my customers would appreciate it! Decorum on the outside for me!!!!!

I had pierced ears and they are closed over now.

When I was younger I fancied a tattoo, but never did it as I was too worried about infection, and/or the artist making a mistake. I am glad I didnt now.

Generally I think tattoos look gross on women. They spoil the look of a good outfit and when you are old and saggy and have faded along with your your youth they look awful.

Confusingly, tattoos on men I quite like, but I think thats cos I once new a lovely man with sexy muscly arms and he had a tattoo on his forearm

Piercings, i like the look of belly button piercings, but facial ones are just wrong IMO. Why?? how do they enhance looks??

Genital piercings, hmm, no, painful. :eek:

I only have pierced ears, one hole in each.

My son asked me about having his eyebrow pierced last week ..... he is 17.

I told him he didn't need my permission, but as he knows what I feel about facial piercings, I hoped he wasn't expecting my approval. I guess I am a fuddy-duddy, but it's quite possible that prospective employers will be of my age rather than his, and first impressions do count! (sometimes you don't even get to make second impressions!!!)

Anyway long and short of discussion was that I told him if he felt it was necessary as part of his image, then it was up to him.

Apparently he went to get it done yesterday, but the shop was closed and anyway he forgot to take his ID :rofl::p

ps I look at hip/pelvic Xrays on a daily basis and have seen some interesting metal objects just recently! :p:rofl:

I could have written that ! I just don't tatoos at all, and never have. Don't know why. Just can't get my head around wanting one picture or image or word for life. What you think is a good idea at 20, or when you are drunk, is usually sooooo not a good idea even 10 years later. However, if you are perhaps 40, and really, really know what you want, then so be it. My mate had her belly button pierced in May for her 40th (although I actually thought that was also an emotional response to a mid-life blip!).

Have you seen those photos circulating on emails showing tatoos on, let's be diplomatic, old and wrinkly ( :D ) skin. Sorry - yuck. But, on the other hand, who cares, really?! :lol:
Just not for me !

And I don't get facial piercings either :confused:
