The spa salon that I go to, is now offering sugaring. Now, I have heard that this is more painful than waxing, but more effective.
So ladies, whats your preference and why?

Check what they mean by sugaring. I've had sugar waxing before, and it's like a ball of sugar - looks a bit like clear toffee, which is pliable. Can't say whether it is more painful or not - I have had both the old fashioned strip wax and this, BUT I do prefer the sugar wax. Not only does it do a very good job BUT it is over very quickly because they don't have to faff around with a spatula, apply a layer of wax, adhere the wax sheet etc. They simply just keep reapplying it - a bit like you would with a strip of sellotape if you were trying to get fluff of something! Odd analogy I know, but that's how quick it is. If I were you I would give it a go. I find the anticipation of the pain can be almost as bad, so with sugaring it is over very quickly. Good luck. Where is this? Are you in Toronto?

yeah double check, cos some places call it sugaring (which I believe is how you are supposed to refer to the toffee-like pliable ball) and others use sugar wax, which is applied in the old fashioned way with a spatula, then stripped off with a cloth/plastic strip - no doubt what you are used to. If you can find the first version, then I recommend it. Also, much less messy! Good luck.

I actually preferred the sugaring - I don't think it was more painful either - lets face it, they are ripping your hair out by the roots. No matter how that is done it is going to HURT!
The reason I preferred the sugaring? because a quick shower gets rid of any residue as it is water soluable. With waxing I used to find that I had sticky bits on my legs for a couple of days...

Funny aint it, as a man I am far more concerned about keeping what hair I have than determining the best way of removing it... Safe to say that if I was a woman my legs (for example) would be as nature intended... low pain threshold and all that.
