Sure hun, back in August so it will only be two months until your over this way, will stick it in the cupboard and forget it's there.....Hopefully.
Yes unpaid, when I took the job I said that working during the holidays would be an issue, they were fine with it. Now we have new owner's and a new General Manager who is a right ...ker, he is not happy at all with the idea, I had to show him the Court order (bio Mum and children) to prove that I had to go back, he had the gall to ask if I could fly them back, return to Canada and then pop back to get them.... FFS I am only a cashier, they have so many staff it's a joke, and the usual thing is that the school kids get the hours during the holidays to help pay for their education.
So what they have agreed is that I can take the holiday and then for the rest of the Summer have to work weekends and evenings. This means that Chris and I cannot have a Canadian summer holiday with the children, which all of us, especially the children are gutted about. We missed out on the family holiday last year as Chris was in Canada and we were in the UK (due to a Court case).
Not sure what they intend for other holidays, for the hours that I work it is not worth paying childcare.
I know I should be grateful for the job that I have in this current economic climate, but at the moment I am only getting on average 15 hours a week. Plan when I return is to find another job and tell CT to stick theirs where the sun refuses to shine!
Branston it is then.....
You've not been here that long.....lol
Bacon could be an issue me thinks.

I certainly hope you don't value or need this job. Having p****d off the GM and given the excess of staff, you could well find yourself redundant upon your return from old blighty.

Not UK but if you come across Cailler milk, appropriately packaged in purple wrapppers, while you're in France I'd love some. I've always liked that brand. Bringing me a bar from Switzerland, then eating it and giving me only the wrapper, was one of my exes nastier pranks.

Unfortunately I have made myself too popular, attitude and attendance wise.
Just to reiterate when I was interviewed for the position I explained that having arrived in Canada two weeks previously that I could only work when my children were in school, and at no other time. My hours were during the day, and during the week, and not in the holiday. This suited the owner, GM and Cashier Manager.
In my conversation with the new Cashier Manager (in April) I stated that this was the arrangement, this was fine she said.................Two weeks ago the GM decided that it was an issue, hence I think he is a ...ker.
Excess of staff is college/uni students who come September will be back to their education, they only have a couple of us, who work monday to friday in the days.
