Default Vancouver Island - Trip advice??

Hi Guys, We are heading west for a week long trip to the island this summer. Desperatley need to see the ocean!!!
Any ideas what should be on our "Must see/do" list????
We'll be camping with 2 young boys and a dog.
We're not really city lovers, but I guess a visit to Victoria is a must!!
Any pointers for a relaxing/adventureful/ ocean based trip
Cheers

Victoria is worth a visit, but for what you want head to Tofino or Ucluelet.

And Port Renfrew.

Telegraph Cove if you like whales.

Victoria definitley worth a visit if you have time, but if you only have a week maybe you should head straight for for Tofino or Telegraph Cove via Nanaimo. I have got a contact in TC that does kayak trips if you are interested if you do get to Victoria we have got a happy band of Brits that meet regularly and drink far too much!!

We actually live in Nanaimo and theres plenty of areas around there for sightseeing. At moment we are caretaking at a marina on the west coast of the island, near a small town called Bamfield. It is absolutely stunning here. There area few camping areas around here, but one thing we did last year was take the Frances Barkley from Port Alberni to Bamfield. Its a working boat that goes down the inlet from Port Alberni to Bamfield, stopping off to deliver goods etc to different locations along the way. It was a superb trip and our guest from the UK really enjoyed it. It would take a day for the trip but if you are over this way it would really give you an insight to how stunning this part of the world is. http://www.ladyrosemarine.com/index.html
Could be combined with a trip to Tofino & Ucluelet.
