Conspiracy theories.

Can't believe we've had two days without comment.
Almost felt like I'd died and gone to heaven.. but I haven't fortunately so I thought I'd float a latest poll..
https://www.forexlive.com/news/!/uk-...on-31-20191120
"Conservatives have been in the lead and maintaining it, the latest (for the UK Tele) has Conservatives on 42% vs. Labour on 31%."
So not quite in line with poll here is it?

I bet that was the YouGov poll that MSM seem to be using. A Poll by a Tory run and owned company asking questions only in strong Tory voting areas is likely to come up with that result,

Oh were that true but that well known Tory sponsored site Wikipedia suggests otherwise.

Don't worry, I made the same mistake of trusting Wikipedia instead of verifying it's source. As anyone can edit Wikipedia, it's not a reliable source unless you go into the citations to check it's veracity.

Does anyone really care about what polls say? In other words, has anyone ever changed their choice of vote because of a poll?

People vote for many different reasons. Perceived popularity is probably quite high. So to answer your question, yes people do care.

Absolutely, and polls do get it wrong sometimes, and some deliberately ask skewed questions.
But it's exciting isn't it.
Can't wait to watch the results coming in live, it might even eclipse Trump news.

I think it’s going to be labour for me. The local conservative candidate is ok but not with BJ as PM.

It's turning out to be a bizarre election.

Very likely. Tactical voting likely uses it. If past elections have always been consistent a poll wouldn't be needed, unless something had happened to threaten that pattern and a poll backs up the likelihood of that change.

Or maybe you were being specific to anyone on BE. I haven't but I wouldn't rule out changing for a tactical vote. Not that I'm ever going to vote in a UK election.

Didn't the polls in 2016 predict that the Big Cheetoh (Trump) wouldn't be elected as President of the USA. Hell they even said he wouldn't win the Republican nomination never mind becoming President.

The 2017 UK election polls said Tories would win with a majority of 100+ seats..
