UK General Election

Re: UK General Election
It's sometimes surprising what affects people's attitudes.

Boris can huff and puff, act like a clown, be a womaniser, etc, but hide something from voters and he suddenly attracts a different kind of criticsm. It's the kind that can turn people off. Voters will start to wonder whether the rumours about a shadowy Boriski are true?
Is he in league with the red RasPutin?
It's damaging whether it's published or not now, it's the hint of a cover up that's the problem and it won't go away.

Farage has claimed, this morning, that he HASN'T been bribed offered a peerage to drop candidates in Tory seats, he has also said that he WILL NOT refund any monies those dropped candidates have paid to the Brexit Party Ltd.

Of course big business want to remain, perhaps they should also set the minimum wage and corporation tax.
Facebook Nick was after a referendum for years, well before Cameron ever mentioned it.

What surprises me is that after the s---storm that is Brexit (whichever way one leans) that Alberta is even musing about Wexit. As a political leverage tactic, ok, but the whole separation thing unleashes very ugly forces. We've seen it in Quebec, in Scotland, and now Britain. Albertan politicians playing with this are not doing anyone any favours, particularly as without BC an independent Alberta is a non starter.

Re: UK General Election
Its good to see an American complaining about foreign interference in elections - interfering in a foreign election!

Re: UK General Election
Admittedly there's an irony in it, but as it's a transparent form of 'interference' it's much more benign. Sometimes it takes someone on the outside to state the obvious.

Sorry, no time to read links, but have always been a fan of Facebook Nick.

I'm not following it that closely, just catching various headlines that there are calls for independence. Definitely would (further) frustrate pipeline building.

Every one is now wondering just who tried to hack the Labour Party's server, big money is on Johnson's friends the Russians, or ever Trump's friends, the Russians, personally I think it was the Russians. Fortuneately their security system was too good.

It could be Trump's doing, to help Bojo and Farage win
