Default U2 in Vancouver

Hi di hi
Anyone else going? Black Eyed Peas are supporting and I cannot wait. Only downside; having to drive from the Okanagan - flights were $1300 (which, btw we are flying home for cheaper in 6 weeks!)

Not looking forward to the drive - the connector is horrible so think we are heading through Kamloops with the trusty snow tyres on. Any driving advice for the journey appreciated

U2 in Vancouver? That's smug at a dangerous level.

The music is great. The gigs are great. If only he could shut his bloody mouth between songs. Last time I saw them I vowed never again.

Apparently with the amount of money we in the West spend on food in a month, you feed Africa for a year. If that’s the case I think we are being over charged for our groceries.

That overblown and self-satisfied anathema was boring by 1986. And that's when they should have been stopped.

The entire tour is eco-neutral and carbon-friendly, they use no fossil fuels what so ever - the whole show is powered by Bono's ego apparently.

I don't see how you'll be better off - the climb from Kamloops to Merritt had snow on it several weeks ago, so if the connector's bad, that route won't be any better.

I have two tickets to see the show, that I paid $250 each for, but unfortunately two weeks ago my husband was diagnosed with cancer in his spinal column and he can barely walk now let alone fly, and is having radiation treatments at the Cross Cancer Institute here in Edmonton.

I've been talking with the arses at ticketmaster since Friday to see if they would be willing to refund me given the circumstances, or as I bought the tickets you print off yourself, whether they would give me an opportunity to be able to resell them. They've passed me around from one person to another until this evening, when they said absolutely no refunds no matter the circumstances.

The presale for my group in the U2 fan club starts in the morning for the Edmonton show, and I was going to get tickets in the hope my hubby would be feeling up to it by next summer, but I'm having a really hard time wanting to give ticketmaster anymore money when they've messed me around for days. If they'd have given me the go ahead on Friday, I could have resold the tickets, or they could. Grrr. Really poor customer service, and absolutely no compassion at all. The Westin Grand in Vancouver however, gave me a full refund even though they have a no refund policy, and West Jet gave me full credit, no admin fees, top marks to them.

Anyway, enjoy the show, we were really looking forward to it. It looks absolutely amazing.

Why don't you sell the tickets on stubhub?

Snorkmaiden - I'm sure someone on here might be interested in your printed-off tickets - put it out there.

In the meantime, and off topic, but deserving a mention, hugs to you and your husband in what must be a frightening and stressful time.
