Hi eveyone, I thought that i would put a message on for a bit of help!
I currently work for First Choice Travel in the UK, but I am moving to Toronto at the beginning of May. i just wondered whether there was anyone here that may know of any possible jobs that I could apply for in the Travel Industry! Im finding it really hard as Im not in Canada yet. If anyone can help, I would be greatly appreciated!

Don't First Choice own the biggest Canadian tour operator signature vacations? That may be a good place to start.

Ye I know, but they have advised that there arent any current vacancies at this time, but to continue to keep an eye out for any. I just wondered if there maybe anything else out there.

Hi Chris,
I used to work for Thomson Holidays in the UK...I had no formal education, was trained on the job, and worked there for 8 years. When I returned to Canada (I am a Canadian) 3 years ago, I found it very difficult to even get an interview because I did not have a Travel & Tourism degree or certification through a college. Unfortunately, my work experience didn't count for much, so I have ended up working in another industry all together.
In my experience, Canada values education over experience.

Thanks for your reply! I should have said, the reson why im waiting till May to move over, is because im in the last few weeks of my Travel and tourism with marketing degree, so i will have a degree as well as experience. Hopefully this may help me then, its just so hard without being there for interviews etc. I would be happy to do anything office based, but would prefer to stay in travel if I can ! Thanks again!

Maybe try www.sears.ca and American Express also equivalent to the AA/RAC is CAA Canadian Automobile Association I know they have travel outlets and have advertised for positions.
