Default The train through the mountain!

Hello to everyone

Can anyone help - we are having senior moments here in the UK - a couple of years ago Mike and I were driving from Calgary to Vancouver through the rockies etc. We came across a rest stop and stopped - it was on the way down one of the mountains - when we got out of the car and looked over the viewpoint there was this really long and I mean really long train going past us actually into a mountain - then someone said if you stand here long enough it will come out of the other hole in the mountain - guess what it did! Its true we have the photo's to prove it! Where is this - can anyone help.

It's called Spiral Tunnels and it's near Feild in the Kicking Horse Pass, Yoho National Park, BC.

Here's a pretty good video of it:

Thanks - that is the one - it was amazing when we were watching it - I kept saying it cannot be must be more than one train but we noted certain carriages and low and behold those same ones came out again. I could have watched it for hours - well i think i did!!!

There is another tunnel just like it above the highway on the other side. They were finished in 1909 to reduce the grade of the track from 4.5% to 2.2%

Every time we go past the Spiral Tunnels we stop to see if we are lucky enough to see the train go through - once we caught a service train going through but that was only one bit of train
