I'll do my best to drink vicariously through you, maybe even do a Skype toast.

Is anyone planning to do a 'Phil Collins' (Live Aid) and attend the Vancouver session on the 9th and the Toronto event on the 10th?

Reservation for 14 made under my name for The Library (hopefully). PM if you need the name. See you there!
Not sure yet of my ETA, depends if I have to do a daycare pickup or if my mom can do it. Should be there around 6:30ish.

Hope you all have a lovely time (she says, feeling a bit mournful/bitter/want to take-off to Toronto about it).
I'll try & see you all at the next one.

I'm hoping to be there around 7.30 if I catch the right train! Also another random extra - fellow-expat formerly of these parts now of SoCal who is up in the frozen North on business...

BTW I pity your friend's plight. We moved from SoCal to Toronto for the first time in 1982. On Christmas Day in 1981 we basked in the garden of our rented house, drinking G&T with limes plucked from our G&T tree. It was +25C.
One year later at our High Park flat, ironically on Garden Ave., it was -26C.
Daft idea really.
