Now, me telling the kids I was wearing my wifes underwear after they hid all mine this morning, that at least had some plausibility;)

And you have form for it.

I presume you are referring to the West Ham game ? I didn't think it was, but then I thought the Liverpool keeper was fouled by Carroll with one of his branches.

Arsenal and United in Europa next season with Everton in CL? I wonder what the odds would have been of that before the season start..

I watched the Emirates @ Changs go down 2-0 early and quit watching 30 min in. 3 nil final and it reminded me of the Riders in the bad times. Maybe if that Mobuku or whatever his name is had got kicked in the head instead of Osmon at about the 10 minute mark it would of made a difference. Good game if you're an Everton fan I suppose. I'd be delighted to see Arsenal miss the Champions League.

I think they'll still nick that spot though sadly.

I'm delighted that Spurs are completely out of Europe. It is wrong that that 6th spot is a more appetising finish than 5th.

Do not really get the first part of your post but I understand it, however you have come back with a classic at the end, it tickled me, or the dust from the empty cabinet did, ;)

It would indeed be amusing to see that happen. On the other hand, as someone who likes to see the English teams doing well in the Champions League (previously who I wanted to win things was based on who was best equipped for the old European Cups) I can't help but feel Arsenal is virtually a guarantee of reaching the first knock-out stage while Everton would have to survive a tough play off against someone like Celtic or Napoli before being unseeded in the groups and drawing Real Madrid, Porto and Juventus.

Not good for the coefficients.

I think they should give it up to a team who may well try and play for the cup, if you look over the last ten years or so at the teams that have pushed into or further than the quarters, it shows for me Arsenal do not deserve the chance to be there, Olympiakos Juventus and Malaga to name just two, if pushed on it I could come back with more teams

I don't care for other British teams in Europe sadly.

As an example I'd have been far happier if Bayern had won the CL ahead of Chelsea and Spurs had qualified for the CL several years ago.

Co-efficients etc have ruined the game. Europe was better when we didn't have boring seeded groups designed to keep certain teams in it. It should be knock out with an unseeded draw.

The cash would certainly mean more to Everton than Arsenal if they were to make the group stage. And it may actually be a good thing for Arsenal as it may change the board's approach to running the club- then it again it could be the beginning of a demise.

I still think Arsenal will win their 4 remaining games and I'm fairly certain Everton have to play City so I think Arsenal with finish 4th.

Everton have a game in hand, City is not a given + I am sure it is at Everton, I kind of would not expect Arsenal to not win the last 5 but the confidence is not there, they have the easier run
