By all means have a 4th official, but why not use TV if its available? The main argument against more officials is that officials miss things, thats kind of the root cause of the problem.

The other problem with a 4th official is over time it will become a 5th official, then a 6th, 7th, 8th, and before you know it you have tennis or american football with more officials than players.

I believe that's what the 4th official ( video ref ) uses in rugby.

Sorry, I was thinking touchline officials.

Thats probably why the FA is against video.. cant be copying Rugger, can we now, oh no. Shame really because sin binning would help too. Too many games ruined by an early sending off for something petty. Footy would benefit from the option of a 5 or 10 minute sin bin, as well as permanent sending off.

Also take from rugby if you argue with the ref the free kick moves closer to the goal.

At that level- Yes.

You're not going to get it at Clapham Common on a Sunday- but then the game is not anywhere near as fast.

Toon are having a successful season and the FCB has kept his head down of late, but he'll never be forgiven for trying, trying, I said, to rename St. James Park.

Now the Ordinance Survey have refused to recognize his diktat...

Some of the best and most memorable moments from EPL matches over the last 20 years:-

http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/20-seasons.html

The celebrations are worth watching a couple of times, Ferguson & Kidd are hilarious. But wtf Ketsbaia??! Oh, I remember now, that's the special way NUFC fans and players express their emotions.

Luckily Fox Sports News we get in Canada is getting dropped by most Canadian carriers so we wont have to listen to some of the awful pronunciations they make when giving out the EPL or other division results.

A bit like Lanca(shire) or Lancasher

They seem to be able to manage "celtic", so I expect they will get the hang of it.

It will only be for a year anyway, right?
