For those who post only to get berated
#1
Hi to everyone,
The other day I posted on here and only wish to God that I didn't bother. I'm tired of reading on here people that post of their experiences or want advice, only for some people on here that feel it neccessary to rubbish whatever they say.
I couldn't give a flying fig if people don't believe me about Mr. Wolf
but what I do give a crap about is the amount of 'going on' at people it generates
I can honestly say that I've received a few pm's now from people who used to post quite a lot on here but are fed up with people berating whatever they say.
I often think to myself what are these people doing in Canada? Are they sat at their computers all day long like eager hawks, ready to rip apart what others say?
Or, are they getting on with their 'Candian life' and enjoying and experiencing the country they so much wanted to emigrate to?
I for one, enjoy this site and value the expertise from others and like reading about others experiences. I even enjoy trying to help others if I think I can too.
However, I don't enjoy having to explain myself if I'm going to get vilified for doing so.
So, here's hoping that from now on that people who want to post should be able to do so without being berated

Some threads are created only to rile people, trolls come on to wind people up, some are just not well thought out. Out of all of it comes some useful information as well as some utter tripe.
It is an internet forum, take it for what it is, in the most part, good humoured fun. If you find something offensive report it and it will be looked at. If you just don't like it, ignore it. You can also add posters to your ignore list if you so wish.

I know threads get taken off on tangents, and that happens to all of us, I think for the most part its all good natured and I have never taken it personally.
It does seem to be the nature of internet forums, however, BE is far more civilized than others ive seen (believe it or not). The mods do seem to keep things in check and do a good job (dont tell them I said that)...
I would take it all with a pinch of salt to be honest and the majority of posters are a good bunch..even the scots, welsh, N irish and scousers..
You made a good point all the same..good for you.

Nobody doubted she saw a big wolf. The OP is just pissed off because she greatly exaggerated it's size and got found out and then rather than laughing it off like a normal person went into a histrionic fit about how these 5 foot wolves hitherto unknown to science must exist because she saw one and anyone who disbelieves her version of events is a big nasty meanie who enjoys berating other people with their negative opinions (also known as 'facts').
What a crock. If you read the thread it was the OP that made a big deal of this - nobody else; she is now trying to control the discourse by manipulatively blaming the site regulars for bullying everyone rather than admit to telling porkies about wolfs.

Got found out? by the expat police? what kind of shit are you on? Please don't try and sully me.
I'm not trying to control anything, just simply saying that there are people on here - that have nothing better to do than to berate people and accuse them of lying - Alan, I think you've just proved yourself on that one.
Would you like it if I accused you of lying about all the posts that you make about finances and saying you've been found out for making gross exagerations?

Even more lost if those who are accused of the berating were not here. Many of these are the ones with the experience that the forum is built on. If it had no banter and entertainment value the forum would not only be dull, it would be very quiet.

Blimey - is everyone on the blob, or is it the full moan, I mean moon??
Not everyone agrees with everyone and everything - end of - do stop whingeing people.

And I've been drinking so I have no idea if I made any sense or not.

But that's the issue isn't it...Alan might be one (not saying he is, have not read Wolf thread, don't care to) but he can take it as well as give it. Some posters can't take any kind of piss take or criticism. That's not a realistic expectation in a forum like this. They (general they) need to toughen up.
And I've been drinking so I have no idea if I made any sense or not.
