Those cookies with currants in them

When we were traveling in England last summer we got hooked on some kind of cookie that has black currants in them. Or some kind of currant. Or dried something anyway.

I didn't even know that we were missing out on something. What are they called? I can't remember. Can you get anything like that here?

Garibaldi biscuits? A packet of flat rectangles with very small dried black fruit bits?

Could be an Eccles cake?

I'll respond to your next question in a new post... to ensure this thread goes over 10 posts... cos that's how I voted.... and I don't want to lose.

You can get Eccles cakes in Victoria BC.

I only know that because I worked at a place that sold them.

This sounds like the one. Do they come just wrapped in a stack of biscuits?

We found name brand ones and Co-op brand ones but they all tasted the same. We could go through a stack of those in an afternoon.

We found a couple of England stores in Calgary but neither of them have those particular cookies.

Oh well, I guess we'll just have to go back for another visit.
