The fact that after being here for nearly 3 years I have yet to hear any Canadian say anything remotely funny.......either at work, in the street or on TV

You need to meet the ones i know, or maybe work in a hospital. Hospital peeps always have a sense of humour.

Not a fan of George Strombolopoulos either.

Don't like the way many cashiers, customer service clerks, co-workers etc mechanically say "How are you today?" and you feel forced to say "I'm great!" like Tony the Tiger.

Haha - I often respond with a smile but say "well its been a crappy day actually, how are you?" ... always interesting to see who's actually paying attention rather than assuming you've issued the standard response "Goodanu?" (Good and you)

The correct answer is, of course: "I'm having a lousy day trying to find some decent cheese that doesn't require my taking out a second mortgage. And my mother died yesterday".

Or

"I've got the shits".

The local Sobeys changing the layout usually just after I get used to where everything is .

Ignorant bastards who spend 10 minutes watching all their shopping getting rung in then act all surprised when they have to pay for them and spend another 10 minutes rooting around for cash or cards

Crappy Tire having something in their flyer that I want then finding out they have none in stock even when you walk in the store as the weekly flyer promotion is just starting

NL Liquor eventually selling Tennents Lager after umpteen suggestion e-mails over the last 13 years but then charging 4 bucks a can for it

I've never knowingly heard his voice. I've only heard of him because he has a Prince Albert, is that something that features in his programs?

It's on a downward spiral. Apparently, food portion sizes have doubled in the last decade too. We're going all American now!

When I have occasion to watch the "Canadiens de Montréal" (getting pumped by the Leafs) and seeing "LNH" advertising on the boards. It's just distracting.

The audacity of them to put Canadian football on tv.

I actually don't mind that and it even sounds sincere.

I don't mean that they are genuinely interested and that they are going to pray for you if you're unwell (although some might do that ) but it just seems nice.

On a par with holding the door open for someone or having someone say thank you. They're not eternally grateful, just polite.

Perhaps in this part of Canada people really are more friendly in a going out of their way to help way.

Now "awesome" or "perfect" are other matters.
