The Sistine Chapel was one of the biggest disappointments of my life. Me and MrsDV were in Rome on honeymoon and we trotted along to the Vatican to meet the Pope, and any ideas of some tranquility and quiet introspection were sadly ruined.
A vast sea of boorish humanity, blatantly ignoring the "No Flash Photography" and "No Video Camera" instructions. The noise of mindless chatter was deafening, and the ocean of people meant you were just swept from one side to the other.
I suppose it did leave me speechless, but not in the way I'd hoped.

When my 11 year old son was lying still on the ice after getting checked from behind on the boards with no puck in sight at his hockey game! That knocked the wind out of me but I was left flabbergasted by the dick of a dad who bought the kid who did it a Gatorade for getting away with it!!
