I would just like to thank ALL members of BE for the help and support which they have provided to so many people over the years. Without you all, the task of moving to Canada would have been so much harder for most of us.
Thank you, Steve

I'd like to thank Hooters for re-opening a new restaurant in Niagara falls.
Thank you!

I would like to thank the pumpkin people for making my kid laugh so hard today.

I like Canadian Thanksgiving. Its like the American Thanksgiving just without all the bollocks.

I got someone else to thank now.
City Hall gave me a $450 parking ticket whilst I was having my turkey in Sneaky Dee's.
Apparently a disabled bay?
Thanks City Hall.

If there was only a wheelchair painted on the spot (rendering it invisible if a car was parked in the spot) then it is not a legal disabled bay and you can dispute the ticket.
Re thanksgiving - I thank the weather for not freaking snowing yet

Was there a sign in front of the spot with a blue and white wheelchair symbol and "BY PERMIT ONLY" on it?

There were no markings on the road. Any sign was high up on a wooden beam with all the other signs. I did notice something after the fact.
I'll have to fight it. $450 is a ridiculous sum of money to just hand over.
I think my fine for assaulting a traffic warden would be less.

I'd like to thank costco for giving me the opportunity to purchase a portion of very poor poutine at under $5 a time when I'm feeling the urge

I'd like to thank steve for starting this thread.
On this most family orientated weekend in Canada, it's nice to have something to laugh at.

You and me both, I don't normally suffer indigestion but...
I'm not generally sure that I 'get' Thanksgiving? I seems to me that it's a great excuse for a roast....that is always a pleasure
but other than the roast there doesn't seem to be a wellspring of good feeling around? Canada day seems a much happier, feel good event.
OP, yes, I give thanks to BE'ers on a frequent basis, they have been a grip on normality and reality and comic relief in frequent doses over the years. God bless us every one
