Played hockey against Brett Hull and a few other notable NHL'ers - but then that's "iced" hockey and most here won't get it (or care)

Re: Tenuous Connections to Famous People
Let's hear all about your feeble links to famous people, e.g. was at school with X's sister.... my cousin babysat for X... my mum used to go out with X's brother when they were teenagers... played football in the same team as X but not at the same time...
The more tenuous the connection and the crappier the famous person the better, but must be true.
Starter for ten:
My mum used to work beside BA Robertson in a customs office before he was 'famous'.

About 28 years ago we were in a London taxi with our first baby and Dennis Healey in a car alongside winked at him. The baby screamed for some time afterwards. 28 years afterwards to be exact.

The Feathers, I presume?
When I was about 16 and at one of those house parties, my best friend (at the time) who is now a minor s'leb renowned surgeon in England, uttered, in the darkened room, after a squeal form his consort, the unforgettable phrase "It's alright I'm going to be a doctor".
Happy days.

Paddy O'Farrell's, same street as the Feathers but nearer to our house. I suppose we'd been drinking before we went out. One of the ex-Lindisfarne, ex-Jack The Lad people lives in the Beach and is a brewer, a skill which makes O'Farrell's an unlikely spot to find him, perhaps they were there for the drugs.

In around 1962 the very first Chinese restaurant in Newcastle was called "The Lusan". I was fairly often taken there on a Saturday night by my parents, who showed uncharacteristic enthusiasm for something other than meat and two veg.
The regular waitress we had was Eric Burdon's mother.
