Yellow teeth, or long term enamel damage, even tongue cancer from the peroxide...Hmm... not too hard to choose which I would prefer to take my chances with.
At the risk of thread drift what's with modern societies obsession with youthful appearance anyway? It seems so shallow, and why do otherwise sane and intelligent people subject themselves to unnecessary procedures just for cosmetic ends. And why are doctors allowed to get away with performing, even encouraging so many unnecessary procedures... |

I've been putting off going to the dentist for the year I've been here, though I'm going to have to relent in the new year, can't wait for the inevitable tutting and cash register chings in his head....

I've said it before, I'll say it again...teeth aren't meant to be brilliant white, they're naturally a creamy colour that north americans think is yellow. Crazy.

It's nice to see a straight-ish, full set of teeth. No black, missing or broken bits.
But luminescent white pegs? Not sure really. I know many people here that have it done, and it looks OK and makes me feel under a little pressure, like I ought to consider it - but I can't think that stripping the enamel and subjecting it to all sorts of ultraviolet lights and bleaches is the route to having many of them left by the time I'm 60. |

Although, I have to confess to having used crest whitestrips. I also had braces on my top set. |

Never get them done whiter than the white of your eyes else apparently all attention is then drawn to them. I have hideous teeth and don't want to draw any attention to them, so I won't whtien (plus like you, I think it mst be unhealthy in some way!) |
