We had garlic, peshwari, keema and one I can't remember the name but it had curried potatoes in it. We bought some home. :)

Give the place a name check, then if it was that good!

An extra large pizza with pepperoni, capicollo, onions, mushrooms and extra cheese delivered by Nat’s Pizza.

Re: Teatime Choices

Edited to say they forget the extra cheese on an otherwise splendid pizza. :(

From the menu on their website it looks like my kind of place. I used to really like Torino‘s on Kingsway back in the day

We usually order from the Firewood Pizza place but decided to try somewhere else. It was disappointing that they forgot the extra cheese.

I‘ll be having leftover chicken curry and rice. I like the jars of curry sauce, but $4-$5 seems bit high, so I bought a 1.89 litre jug of Gordon‘s red Thai curry sauce for $12 and it made quite a few meals. I wish they‘d had a yellow Thai one, but all they have besides the red is a ginger curry, and I‘m not sure if I want the big one of that. Anyone else tried the Gordon‘s sauces?

Buy your own spices and man it up and make your own stonkin curry.

Sometimes I do my own but I only keep Madras curry powder on hand and I like to make beef and green peppers like back in the hippy days. I actually like most of those sauces and once in awhile the butter chicken. For a special treat sometimes I take a friend to the buffet at Siam Restaurant about 3 blocks away and there are all sorts of exotic goodies there.

That oops moment when you realize you have 2 drinks going at the same time can make the difference between chicken in mushroom sauce and coq au vin. With rice, mmmmmmmm.

Bit of a disaster tonight....the Mrs found monkfish in the local supermarket which is a rare occurance so bought an enormous tail. After frickin around with skinning and removing the membrane (which is bloody hard work) I did a monkfish ragout recipe from a British cookbook we brought over. The recipe calls for creme freche which we can't get here. (Yes I know you can make it but I didn't have the 8-14 hrs needed to do this). So I tried greek yogurt instead. Which curdled nastily.:( We ate it anyway & it tasted OK but looked like sh1t.

Having little shish kebabs, cheese lumps, gyoza, stuffed mushrooms and mini quiches courtesy of UCLA, now to decide if Cal Berkeley or Wisconsin will have better nibbles. Might check out both. :thumb up: Its a good job they don't have free drinks as I was somewhat led astray last night by a wandering goliard.

Mini sliders, chicken satay skewers, some kind of samosa things and shrimps. Top drawer Wisconsin. :thumb up: I might make Michigan now but I got a text saying they've eaten most of the food. :(

St. George's Day, time for something British! (Also, it's blowing a bloody gale and the rain is coming down like stair rods). Toad in the Hole - I've just made the batter, yum yum.

After the trauma of the soggy breaded chicken wings last week my faith in the land of opportunity is restored. Admittedly not as many choices of flavours of our Nova Scotlan adventurers but I had two superb orders of hot wings at Earls for my tea tonight. All washed down with a couple of rather cheeky pale ales.

I christened my new Weber with a couple of Rib Eyes, and oil brushed asparagus, peppers, and courgette. In the oven I did a couple of line caught salmon. All topped off with mashed potato, sweet potato, and carrot.

For afters everybody tucked into puddings from Whole Foods

A fine feast

Oh good god no. My Father In Law did the hard work. I just took it out of the freezer, chopped it up and removed bones

I've only fished once in my life many many years ago. I caught a passing duck and never tried again. very traumatic.

First visit to Paros on Main Street Airdrie- I know it looks like a rundown Greek Taverna, the kind of place you might see on a tatty UK seafront, but was well impressed. The food was excellent, huge portions, good value and great atmosphere even if the decor is a bit dated. Can recommend the Flaming Cheese starter, but quite scary (and rather warm) if you happen to be sat next to the waiter when he ignites it!!

However not sure that belly dancing is authentic Greek entertainment, us ladies found it more amusing watching the hubbies not quite knowing where to look, lol

For once I'm truly stumped as to what to have for out tea tonight. HID won't feel like cooking after her sports day and would no doubt vote for sushi although I'd prefer an Indian so there's a certain impasse brewing. What's everyone else having tonight?

probably boring old pizza, usual for a Friday as we're bogged down with kids soccer etc so quick and easy is the name of the game!! and wine of course:)

If I had my choice tonight, i'd probably go with a nice beef roganjosh.

We are having a curry tomorrow, albeit a Pataks curry, but HID is making it so I am not complaining. Tonight, it is home made lasagne, which I am making so I had better get off the computer and get my b*** in gear.:)
