Default Teachers

Why do they leave it until the last week of the summer holidays to start wining about how bad life is as a teacher and start making demands. They had all summer to sort this out.

Based on what I see with my nieces and nephews, teachers need to be fired and replaced by people who want to teach.

When I visit schools here, I see a lot of dedication to both their students and their practice. The problem from a British perspective is the lack of meaningful academic competition and consequence within and between systems, coupled with a rather distorted view of the quality of instruction. That said, from a Canadian perspective, given their vast natural resources, their systems of education work the way they want and probably need.
