I wonder if anyone can help shed some light on my situation, please?
Much Beloved and I are flying out to Calgary on Saturday. He is to have a final interview for a job, whilst I suss out the lie of the land .....
Amongst the many questions about the practicalities I'm having to bother my ickle blonde (out of a bottle) head about is this .....
Our main home is in joint names, and will probably be sold rather than rented out, and the money banked whilst we hope for a better exchange rate.
In my name I have a rental property in Snowdonia which is let via a holiday lettings agency. I do not propose to sell this property, but don't know if to 'mothball' it for a few years. When/if we return to the UK we would have this, at least for some time as our main home.
Would this be a sensible/advantageous thing to do?
Soooo .... could someone please direct me towards where I can find some answers re tax implications, etc.
Hope this makes some sense (head full of snot, lying in a bed of pain with real 'flu ...)
