Its also what the wiki article says too;) Unfortunately the wiki on compatibility of goods makes no mention of Xbox, so if someone has a definitive answer please add it there too:thumbup:

The 360 will require a replacement external power supply, i.e. the big grey block which sits between the console and the power plug. They are available online and don't cost very much money. You can either buy a replacement microsoft one or one of the unofficial universal ones which are probably for sale in Toronto china town.

The region control on 360 games is decided by the publisher of that particular game and around 80% of games are region free including the vast majority of major releases. In fact the region locked ones are normally the crap titles which nobody cares about like American Hunting titles and free games they sometimes give out with Burger King kids meals in Canada and the US. A UK 360 will only play Region 2 DVD's and there is virtually no way around that.

This is a good link to check before buying a game in Canada for a UK console:

If it helps at all, I'm taking my 360 with me when I move over later this month. :)

Hi, we have recently bought a I mac - but the big question is will it work in Canada?

Also does anyone know if a wii works - I sure hope so or my son will be crushed!!

Many thanks

Put it this way, when I moved over I brought my hifi with me, and my epilator, and I had to purchase a converter here to use the UK plug on the Canadian plug outlet.

As long as not too powerful such as an iron is, anything will work. The converters are not cheap! Just over $100 I had to pay, twice, as first one I stupidly used an iron and it burned it out, did not do that the 2nd time but when I hired a lousy removal service they lost it for me (did not get all my belongings back and got charged more than quoted, did not use them or any again).

We're using Air Transat since they offered the lowest price but I think failing that then it probably would have been one of the European airlines as they are usually quite well priced and offer a good service.

We weren't really fussed to be honest as long as the baggage allowance was decent but I made a point not to consider any US-based airlines because, although competitively priced, the service is generally crap and you will have to connect somewhere in America meaning a requirement to clear US immigration and customs.

I don't think Air Canada fly out of Manchester so if you're looking at a direct flight then unfortunately Transat and Thomas Cook are pretty much the only options available.

Air Transat are fantastic!

I flew one way from Canada back to UK, as could not get a return with them for some reason, and it was one of the best flights I had, and I had a spare seat next to me to stretch out on, and people around younger age to chat to, it was all a great service and really good experience.
