Will it be possible to transfer music files from CD via a Mac to a Samsung Galaxy Tab2?

I don't know anything about the Galaxy 2, but as far as the Mac is concerned there's no reason why not. When ripped from the CD, just save it as a format compatible with the Galaxy and the files should transfer just fine.

DRM was a complete pain in the arse, and I'm glad Apple managed to persuade the music publishers to dump it. There may be some DRM CD's out there though, so Ultra Runners link will be of great help. If the music is DRM free, it's a much easier job....

wtf? If you are ripping CD's just rip them in windows media player direct to mp3s (at least 256kps) and copy the files over. iTunes is a piece of shit for stuff like this.

From colleagues I believe there is some truth to that when using iTunes on windows but I have no experience of it having never done it.

On a mac, it's perfectly fine IMHO. I am managing a 2TB library on the mac and it works flawlessly and has done as far as I can remember which for free software is quite something.

I'm sure iTunes is great with other apple stuff. I actually do use it on a mac and it's just shite getting it to work with anything else. I gave up trying to import a library as it was going to take about 3 days or something as it insisted on reading every single file over the network (even when you check that box to say leave the files elsewhere) - why can't it be like every other media manager/player and just scan the folders? If I play stuff on my mac it's plex which scans the folders properly, or vlc which supports DLNA.

To be honest, I'm getting sick of the issues getting my mac mini working with everything else in my house I'm tempted to just install windows 7 on it. I'd be able to change the font size then at least.

Just set up a free google play account, then no need to store the music on your tab, just stream it from the cloud. You get 20,000 tracks for free.

At the time, the mac mini was the only thing like it and it sits nicely under the TV. I wouldn't buy one again cos the Dell Zino is a better/cheaper option and also windows media centre is better than front row (even though I think front rows UI is a bit nicer to use, especially with the mac remote)
