Tablet Wars
This is just getting silly now.....there seems to be a new one on the market every few months now.
The most purchased remain :
iPad, galaxy, Kindle fire HD, nexus. The new kindle HD look nice for the price, but much useful to those in the US because of the content.

Re: Tablet Wars
It's no different to other electronic devices, TVs, Cell Phones, Game Players etc, etc. Once something is successful every other manufacturer jumps on the bandwagon seeking its share of the pie.

Re: Tablet Wars
this is the only reason there are so many out now. Every company and its dog are creating one that they hope will be as successful as the iPad. So far majority have failed miserably.

Really....just because some people choose not to belong to the Apple Ecosystem, doesn't make the alternatives a failure.
Tell me, what can you do on the ipad that can't really be done on the myriad of tablets out there? The whole Apple bandwagon thing is just because people think it makes them cool as $h1t, which isn't the case. It just means your subscribe to trends and have money to burn

Re: Tablet Wars
But the "bandwagon" syndrome applies in most other aspects of marketing. If Tesco introduced a new, highly successful marketing strategy, how long do you think it would take until Sainsburys, Morrisons and Waitrose followed suit?

The UI on Windows 8 is epically bad, imo. Been using it for awhile now and I absolutely loathe it.
For those of you thinking of rushing out and buying a Microsoft Surface tablet, the cheap one is basically an overgrown Windows Phone 8 device as it runs the largely useless Windows 8 RT operating system, if you want one you can actually run all your old Windows apps on, you have to get the one running Windows 8 Pro which costs twice as much as it uses an Intel processor.
