Default T Dot.

Over the last few months Ive been seeing Toronto being mentioned as T Dot.
WTF where does that come from? Who comes up with this crap?
Ive just seen it again in the IEC thread on the Immigration section.
Should we now start referring to Vancouver as V comma or Calgary as C backslash or Montreal as M question mark.
I know people ask how to pronounce Toronto or Torrana or other such variations but T Dot

I've got friends who have been to Vancouver who have loved it and say its very beautiful, Vancouver is a more Canadian city if you're comparing it to the Tdot either way I'm sure you'll love either

I've only ever seen the expression used by the poster London-England-Lads. I asked him where he got it but have had no response.

I'm ashamed to admit that I've enough history with Toronto to have seen the Shuffle Demons, perhaps even at the ElMo. I fear thought that they weren't sufficiently down with their homies to know this expression.

As I say, I've only seen it used by L-E-L. Consequently, I read it in the manner of Kenneth Williams.

There is always the 'o dot' blog, which if you live in the '613' is very funny

http://www.theodot.com/

The OP has a valid point...who thinks this crap up in terms of referring to their city as the t-dot, the o-dot etc...I have heard Detroit referred to as the "D" not very inventive but to the point.

I've heard a few people use the expression.

Other nick names are apparently Hog Town & El Torro.

Hog Town, yes. Toronto was, maybe still is, a centre for pig formatting. I had a job in ab abbatoir just north of High Park which stank to high heaven. Oddly, while Canada Packers has long since moved on, the area retains the odour.
