There's nothing more absorbing than a good test match. Many MANY times, I've attempted to explain the rules of cricket, whether test or one day. Nah, 'they' don't 'get it' do they?
Way more absorbing than The World Series of Rounders & the like.....;) |

They got stuck into them after tea. Tremlett got Dhoni out straight after the break and then their tail folded. Raina offered some resistance but couldn't save them. England were firing on all cylinders. It was good to see Broad bowl well now he's stopped with all that short shit. Roll on Friday at Trent Bridge. |

Thanks- unfortunately you posted a link that can't be legally accessed in Canada.
I suspect all links will just embed the BBC one, however this has a bit more detail: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/odd/news...me-listen.html "Boycott said: "I'm a good fan of pop music. I like that Katy Perry. She's a good singer. 'Firework' - that was a good record that. I like the pop music. "She's nice, her. I like her singing as well - she's good... She's tops for me. She just has something about her voice. It's good, it's clear, it's strong." He added: "I don't think I'll ever meet her, she's American!"" |
Re: The Summer's Cricket.
Does this work in Canada? We are allowed it now in Australia.

Re: The Summer's Cricket.
India were dreadful. Didn't show any fight and looked like they didn't want to be there. Broad and Bresnan played well. Lets get at them in Birmingham.

I've been listening to all the summer's cricket on TMS longwave and I'm rapidly forming two opinions. Firstly, that this England side is as good or better than any I can remember and secondly, that Geoffrey Boycott has become cricket's Don Cherry and should therefore be shot forthwith. |

Agreed, Boycott is a clown. This is a very good cricket team, and its very good all the way through which gives us resilience when one or two aren't doing well, others step up and perform. Its lots of fun to watch.
He was chairman of the ex-England player clique who were doing everything they could to ruin England's Ashes chances in 2005. He has always wanted to some how be associated with a golden generation of English cricket that never really existed. Except perhaps until now......... England have really progressed in the last 7/8 years and now not only is there a pluckiness and an abundance of talent but they are starting to look a class apart. Stuart Broad is producing better cricket than Botham and Flintoff and dare I say it but Ian Bell (the weakest player) actually delivered an innings of significance- although should have been out 22 runs earlier. It would be nice if we can enjoy a good 2/3+ years as the number 1 ranking side in Test cricket. |

Or play four seamers and leave out Morgan? |

Just watched the highlights of Day 4 and the way Bresnan roughed up the Indian batsmen makes him worthy of retention for the 3rd Test. That and the wickets he took, obviously. Looking good for 3-0, strength in depth  Now, Australia in Sri Lanka ... Looking forward to a disaster :D |

I have to be honest I never saw England going number one in the world at the turn of the century. This one is going to take a while to sink in. Be nice if we can hold it for a good few years. |

England could declare now and win by an innings. India look demoralised and most seem to be looking forward to getting back the more lucrative forms of the game. Number 1s? They look more like Number 2s right now. ;) |

Time for a bump I think.
What to do about KP? Should we play MP? What happened to Inzy (now he was a proper athlete)? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xNg8SxnqlM  |

I doubt bringing in Monty would make much difference, if it spins it spins but I'd replace Tremlett with Finn. Tremlett looked terrible and slow. I'd leave KP alone we've got no one better although I might think about putting Luke Wright in for Morgan. Its weird with nobody in the stands, not a good atmosphere but I think England just need to get bit angry and compete more. |
Re: The Summer's Cricket.
I walked past the performance center the other night at about 3 am and they had ajmal and his action up on a mahoosive screen drawing fancy lines on him, so im guessing our batsman are saying they can't read his action! Strange though they didnt have much of a problem playing him in 2010...
Lurch (Tremlett) seemed pretty poor but I don't see why people are focusing on our bowling when it was our batting that failed... Not sure if you saw how pietersen got out but it was just embarrasing really, he'll probably come good in the series at some point though... I don't think Luke wright is cut out for test cricket just doesn't have the technique... would like to see Morgan play his game and stop trying to bat 'properly', could see he was itching to sweep in the second innings but seemed scared almost to do it! |
Re: The Summer's Cricket.
It seems that "Steve Finn in line to replace Surrey paceman in Abu Dhabi."
Not that I don't think Tremlett is a good bowler, he just looked way off the pace in the last test. Article |
